Every now and again they host special parties with live bands and guest DJ's flown in from over the world. On the DJ tip Skeg is the resident host and is joined on rotation by Jazzman Gerald, Fryer, Steve The Sleeve, Nealy Wheely (Urban Allstars), Para and Baila.

Downstairs NEW PERSPECTIVES - Joining us on our adventures this month will be Rinse FM resident and acclaimed DJ of the moment, ALEXANDER NUT.  His spectrum of musical interests spans a worldwide family of the latest and greatest new era hip hop, post funk and soul (plus everything in between). Infact, his selection skills go so far that Phonica Records (one of London's leading record shops) named his Rinse:08 mix cd their 5th favourite release of 2009, placing it above an incredible range of global talents.  If that wasn't enough, the New Perspective regulars will be there, and we'll be dropping some exclusive new material, including the first play of Keep Up! 006, and a hot off the press Architeq remix of new Keep Up! signing BBG.

Upstairs is taken over by BLACK FUZZ - serving up a mixture of spiritual funk, dirty soul, spaced out rock'n'roll, trippy soundtracks and defunkt pop.  Free entry - 6pm-1am

THE SUPER BOWL XLIV PARTY (IN AID OF SHELTER)

Money can be raised to help Shelter in their cause in various ways.   Shaking buckets on the street, forcing friends and family into sponsorship for dubious ventures and bake sales are all well and good, but when The Social wants to raise money, it needs to be big and it needs to be fun.  And events don’t come any bigger than the Super Bowl.   This year we present live from Miami, Super Bowl XLIV.  Downstairs, everything will be set up for The Super Bowl Party of a lifetime.

From 8pm, the crowd will be treated to cheerleaders and DJs playing American rock, before the build up and the match live from Miami.  When the game starts, all attention will be on the massive screen downstairs and the action will be uninterrupted - including live coverage of the half time show by The Who – until the final whistle and the Super Bowl Champions of 2010 are crowned. The upstairs bar will be transformed into an American Diner – selling your favourite all American meals.  Tickets will be available from We Got Tickets, costing £5 in advance – EVERY PENNY of which will go to Shelter.

Doors 7pm-late, £5 entry.
